In Dave’s experience the overlap of Trauma with Choice Theory and Reality Therapy made a lot of sense.
William Glasser’s teachings, which included visual metaphors, have been an ongoing source of inspiration for the development of tools and techniques that Dave has applied in his practice as a psychologist over 40 years.
While working as a Guidance Officer as a school psychologist, Dave took a deeper interest in how to handle trauma. Glasser’s psychology provided a framework on which Dave overlaid effective treatments for people following disastrous events.
The knowledge gained from this overlapping of ideas is the basis for the Use Your Brain project.
